Every Member Pledges Campaign for 2008
Everyone at Saint
Barnabas should congratulate themselves for a fantastic response
to the Every Member Pledges Campaign. The amount pledged today,
just a few days before the annual meeting, is very close to
$256,000--more than at this time last year. There are 97
pledging members of the congregation with a few promises to
respond that will bring the total over 100. The number of
pledges is approaching the number at the time of the annual
meeting in 2007 and this response has come during a long
transitional year.
While the pledge campaign ended February 3, the Committee is
looking forward to designing a continuing stewardship strategy
with Father Garrett soon after his official arrival. We will be
meeting with the Vestry and the Finance Chair to focus on
financial needs going forward as we turn this corner in the life
of our community. Again---THANK YOU ALL!!
Water for
People Project
Until the end of April, frozen pint and quart
containers of two different soups each week will be
available after all three Sunday services and during the day
Monday through Friday. Proceed to the kitchen freezer to collect your soup(s).
Our goal is to raise $12,000 to provide a source of
safe water, sanitation system and health education for a
rural area in southern Malawi, Africa through an
international organization called Water for People.
Suggested donation for homemade soup is $4.00/pint & $8.00/quart. Donate what you
can to support this meaningful
project!
